Jenkins Roof Fund

Donation protected

Mr. David Jenkins is a 68 year old Vietnam veteran and cancer survivor from Moss Point, Ms. who's story recently aired on WLOX News - 8/12/16

Mr. Jenkins home is in desperate need of a new roof and major ceiling repairs. His home was originally damaged during hurricane Isaac in 2012. He unfortunately did not receive enough funds to repair the roof at that time and the roof was only tarped as an attempt to protect it.

Mr Jenkins has found himself in a Catch 22 as he can't get a loan against the house because he does not have insurance and he cannot insure the house because of the condition of the roof and ceiling. He has contacted the V.A. about a loan and did not qualify because he has a limited income. He has applied for a personal loan but again, because he does not have enough income and the homes condition he was denied.

The family has applied with many different agencies F.E.M.A., H.U.D, Habitat for Humanity, etc.. They have contacted different churches, looked into any available grant programs or anything else that has been suggested. At this time they have gotten little to no response, being told “you are on our list” or “at this time our funds are depleted.”

Mr. Jenkins son Derrick has set up this gofundme account in hopes of receiving some of the funds that will be necessary for the needed repairs to the home and also to replace damaged property, i.e., furniture, bedding and linens.

We would like to say "Thank You" to everyone who donates or shares this campaign with others.
