Legal fees for Rosa and Leonardo
Donation protected
Our good friend, fellow Burke parent, fellow parishioner, and coworker Rosa Portillo is one of the nearly 200,000 people who will be negatively affected by the decision to cancel the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program. The TPS program has allowed Rosa to stay here legally in the United States. Rosa has a son, a 15-year-old student in the Burke High School who was born in the United States and is a US citizen. Her son is a dedicated Burke student who aspires to be a neurosurgeon.
Anyone who knows Rosa, knows her to be a warm and caring person, and a devoted and loving parent to her son. She has been a valued, dedicated and hard working employee with the same employer for 14 years. She is an active member of her church and in our Burke community.
Unless Congress acts within the next 18 months, Rosa will be deported and separated from her high school age son.
We have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to pay any incurred legal fees for Rosa as she navigates this process to stay permanently in the United States with her son.
Any funds not spent will be donated to the Edmund Burke School’s financial aid program.
Can you please help?
Thank you so much.
