Dyslexic Jazz Piano Book
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Steve Giedosh and I am a Dyslexic jazz musician from Portland Oregon. I am asking for funding to help research and produce my method book entitled "Janko Jazz: A Dyslexic Approach to Jazz Piano". I am currently developing a jazz piano method for the whole tone Janko layout, a symmetrical visual keyboard system. It allows the musician to visualize all music in a ground breaking manner utilizing symmetrical shapes and understanding. The book will include clearly illustrated exercises that will enable dyslexics as well as those wanting to learn piano from a guitar or bass background to understand them readily. In general this book is for those who seek to expand their minds, think outside the box, and learn this exciting, largely unknown, and cool layout of the Janko keyboard.
All exercises a will be written out in music notation using the dyslexic font and available in an audio book format narrated by me and accompanied with recorded versions of the exercise themselves. I want to make this information available those who are visually impaired, have trouble reading or learn best by ear.
I require additional funds to acquire a full range Janko instrument, equipment to record the book and exercises, put together a group, as well as slide demonstrations and lectures. When finished I will distribute the book free online and promote the use of this instrument and methodology through private lessons and demonstrations.
