My name is Jamie Hartman, and I am a professional Tournament Bass Fisherman from Utica, NY. I have been fishing my whole life, and just recently I have earned an invitation to join the Bassmaster Elite Series. This is the very top level of bass fishing. Very talented anglers spend their whole lives trying to qualify for this level, and many of them never reach this goal. I feel very fortunate to be put in this position, however it does come with some reservations.
I am ready for this. I have been preparing over the last 15 years of my life for this moment. I am ready to take this next step in my career. That being said, fishing isnt quite like other sports. Many people see the big boats, and the great trucks, and all of the equipment and think that we all must be making millions of dollars. This really isn't the case. I wasn't born with millions of dollars in the bank. I was taught that you work for everything that you want. I have worked my way from nothing all the way to where I am today, with nothing given to me. Even at the top level, it is a grind to turn a profit fishing. It can lead to a good life, and obviously I want to chase my dream until the day I die. The startup costs, however, are well in excess of $100,000 for a year on the Bassmaster Elite Series, and the Bassmaster Opens.
I am blessed with sponsor support that helps me offset some of this cost. I have never in my life asked anybody for a handout, and I am not asking for one now. My goal is to use to GoFundMe platform to sell goods and services in advance that I can use to propel my start into the Bassmaster Elite Series. The reality of it is that I have to have my deposits paid by the end of this year, and I cannot start generating money from this endeavor until after February at the first tournament.
Through this website, you can purchase things like a replica of my tournament jersey, days on the water fishing right alongside me, even spots on my boat and truck for your name or the name of your company. I am not in the handout business. I can make this dream a reality myself. I have worked long and hard to get myself ready for this moment. I wish that raising funds weren't part of this process, however it is the reality of the dream that I am facing. I am certainly looking for help from the community, however it is my goal to work my tail off for every single dollar that I can raise through this website, and make everybody who pledges or purchases something extremely proud.
The things that are most important to me on this earth are my family, my job, and the people who support me chasing my dream. I have made sacrifices to get to where I am. I plan on doing this the rest of my life. Please help me kick start my top level career, by purchasing one of the experiences you can find right here on this website.
