Hello World,
My name is Erick. I'm 36 years old and I have a brain tumor.
As harsh as it sounds, that's my reality right now. I had always known myself as a tough guy, kind of a modern gladiator. Sadly, I discovered 4 years ago, I was not one. At 32 years of age I was diagnosed with a intracraneal brain tumor, an Oligodendroglioma Grade III . I had surgery almost inmediatly, and we just had to hope that it would be succesful, that it would be enough. Unfortunatly, on September 2015, doctors found out that the tumor had grown back. A second surgery, a right frontal craniotomy had to be done. Doctors had also confirmed that I need a very specific chemo treatment with temozolomide, which for me is impossible to afford.
Honestly, I'm not just concerned, I am affraid, and not for myself. What I haven't told you just yet, is that I have a wife and a small kid. I'm affraid to leave them by themselves. I want to fight this tumor, not just for me, but for them. Just to have more time with them in this world. But the truth is that I need help in my fight. I have wonderful friends and family members that push me through the days, that support me in all ways possible. I have decided to share my story with all of you because I have faith and hope. Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thank you all in advance for making of a hope a possibiliy.
