Scholarship fund - epilepsy course

Donation protected
The International School of Neurological Sciences in Venice (ISNV) is a non-profit educational organization holding advanced residential courses on epilepsy care for physicians from all over the world
Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder and affects people of all ages, all over the world. It is characterized by unpredictable seizures and can cause other health problems. It has a high impact on the lives of patients and their families and it is important to treat it in the best way.
Since 2002, the ISNV summer courses have been highly appreciated in the medical community and all surveys and questionnaries have always shown the high quality of the education provided.  The school has had over 600 trainees from more than 100 countries. One of the ISNV's goals has always been to raise funds to provide scholarships to deserving physicians from low-income countries.
All faculty members, among the best experts in epilepsy in the world, donate their time for the 12-day courses. They spend their days with the trainees, teaching and discussing possible therapies and better care for the trainees' patients.
So far, the ISNV has managed to award full scholarship to 390 physicians from low-income countries (i.e. 2/3 of the total number of trainees), aiming to help them become better doctors and treat their patients more effectively.
In the last few years, gathering funds has become increasingly difficult and the school has had to reduce the number of grants to low-income trainees.
It is really sad to see that so much effort and knowledge cannot be shared among more trainees due to a lack of funds.
It would be wonderful to be able to have 60 trainees again this year, with 40 scholarships!
The money raised will be used to pay for the trainees' accommodation, meals, and tuition fee. The 2016 course will be held next July and the money will be needed by March 15, 2016, in order to know how many trainees can be sponsored and to give them enough time to apply for their visa to Italy (depending on their country of origin).

You will have the gratefulness of many committed doctors from around the world, who will be able to learn from some of the best experts available and to increase their ability to help their patients.
You will also have the gratefulness of  patients around the world, whose lives will be improved and maybe even seizure-free thanks to the new knowledge their doctors attain!
