UPDATE: Sadly, Pamela passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019. Despite her desire to be with us for longer, she left us peacefully. Your generous donations and wonderful comments brought her comfort and buoyed her spirits. Your donations also helped with her expenses for which she was immensely grateful.
We will miss Pamela - her quick laugh, her artful touch, her intelligence and her positive presence.
Thank you all so much, she appreciated each and everyone of you!

Below is her obituary:

Pamela (Lucy) Quinn, 77, of Natick passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Robert Michael Quinn, who died in 2003.

Pamela was the beloved art teacher at Mount Alvernia Academy in Chestnut Hill for 44 years and taught a summer arts program at The Fessenden School in West Newton. She enjoyed working with children and her colleagues. She sparked the imagination of her students and encouraged them to do their best work, which she displayed in the schools annual art show. She retired earlier this month.

A native of Vermont, Pamela grew up in the village of Saxtons River in the town of Rockingham in Windham County, where her father taught at Vermont Academy. She often shared childhood memories of family, friends and the natural beauty of her green mountain surroundings.

She graduated from Lasell College in Newton with an Associate degree in Art. She studied for a time in Mexico before returning to Vermont. In 1966, she married Robert in Bellows Falls, and the couple settled in Brighton, Massachusetts, where they lived for many years to raise their family. In 2003, Pamela moved to Natick.

Pamela is survived by her two precious daughters and sons-in-law, Kirsten and Alex Nagiba of Colchester, Vermont; and Hilary and Christopher McGuire of Franklin, Massachusetts; a sister, Patricia Bull of Selkrick, New York; a brother, John Lucy of Queensbury, New York; and four adoring grandchildren who meant the world to her, Tristan and Sabina Nagiba of Colchester and Timothy and Madison McGuire of Franklin.

Calling hours will be held from noon to 1 p.m. directly followed by a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneral homs.com), 131 Main Street, Franklin, Massachusetts. A reception will follow at a location to be announced at the service.

Memorial donations in Pamelas name may be made to the American Cancer Society  www.cancer.org  or Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 597 Randolph Ave. Milton, MA 02186 (www. seasonsfoundation.org/ donate).

______________________________________

Pamela Quinn retired last week after 44 years teaching art at Mount Alvernia Academy (and many summers at Fessenden Summer Camps) so she can focus on her battle with cancer.

We are asking for donations to help Pamela with living and medical expenses.

Pamela was diagnosed with lymphoma a few years ago and was cancer free after several rounds of chemotherapy. But last summer she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She started chemotherapy and continued working through her last treatment in December.  Sadly, the treatments were not enough halt the disease.

As an art teacher Pamela sparked the imagination of thousands of Mount Alvernia students - and Fessenden campers - and pushed them to create amazing art projects. She has been a supportive and compassionate teacher, friend and colleague. Now, she needs our help and support.

All donations will go directly to Pamela to help cover her living expenses, including her condo fee, utilities, and transportation, and medical expenses, including medical insurance.

Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated! Pamela has so many friends and family that love and support her and know that many of you would want to help relieve her stress over financial issues.

Thank you for taking the time to read this page. Please keep Pamela and her family in your prayers. We will keep you updated on Pamela's progress.
