Metastatic Lung Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Rick L Gilmore, I'm 46 yrs old, husband to Angie S Gilmore, father to 9 yr old Amber Gilmore, and sole provider for my family. I've been a residential electrician for a small electrical company for the past 15 years.
This past May I started noticing pain in my arms while working and overlooked them and chalked it up to normal pains due to age and line of work. Once it got to the point I couldn't handle the pain I sought medical help and went to the doctor. After a few of MRIs and a few CT scans a small mass was found on my right lung which had metastasized to my spine in the T1 and T9 vertebrae, my brain and also into my pelvic area. I'm currently going through radiation therapy for the brain and spinal tumors, and will be going through Chemotherapy for the rest.
It it confuses me that I was a healthy electrician at the beginning of the year and now I'm no longer able to work, much less provide for my family. My wife has turned from a stay-at-home mom to a total caregiver for not only our daughter but also for myself.
Ihoping to gather enough funds to do what it takes to keep me alive, or if unable to do that, enough to take care of my burial and some to help my wife for a couple of years. Any donations are appreciated. Please share with everyone you can, be it through Facebook or email contacts. Any leftover will be donated to St. Jude.
