Make a healthcare worker's holiday bright!!! Hello! I'm Dr. Stephanie E Waggel and I am the founder of ImproveMedicalCulture.com - a place where healthcare workers and patients can work together to improve the way people treat each other in the medical setting. There are truly many caring healthcare workers and patients out there and it warms my heart. With any money collected this month, we will be sending gifts and cards to doctors and nurses that have to work on Christmas/New Years. Have a particular healthcare worker in mind? Why is this so important? The suicide rate in this profession is higher than any other (please see Facebook.com/PreventPhysicianSuicide). If a medical student, nurse, or resident physician gets one of these cards they will see that they are appreciated. This can mean the world to them! The hospital is very stressful and unfortunately there is much harassment and discrimination. It can be a very lonely place during the holidays. Even if you donate just a dollar you can leave a cheery, encouraging message below for them to see. Donations that come in after the holidays will go to fund the Physicians' Wellness Program (a program to protect chronically ill medical students and doctors).
