Iftar Dinner For Gaza

With all the turmoil and horrific circumstances families in Gaza are subjected to on a daily basis, there is an inordinate shortage of food to adequately sustain a normal, healthy lifestyle regularly. During Ramadan, where fasting is more so an indecision than a choice to practice worship once a year, families in Gaza are unable to "break their fast" with a nutritious, sufficient meal; (due to being forced into poverty and the illegal seizure of basic human necessities). This my friends, is where YOU come in. I have partnered up with "The Sawaed Charity," a reputable charity organization based in Gaza lead by my good friend Mahmoud Abu Saleh, and a Palestinian local restaurant owner (Abdullah Ahmed) to offer these families the opportunity to receive a nourishing meal inshallah. Abdullah Ahmed has offered to graciously have his restaurant prepare a well known Arabic dish called "Mansaf," (a popular favorite by the way) at a discounted price. Each large tray of Mansaf will be sufficient for a family of up to 7 or 8. In the United States, these trays range in price of up to $85 (USD). With your generous donations, upon obtaining our goal, we will be able to feed approximately 120 family members (Muslim and Non-Muslim) per week throughout the month of Ramadan. As of right now, this campaign will only be during Ramadan, however this is tentative.
The success of the campaign depends on your generosity, so please give what you can. Any amount will be a great help to families in Gaza deprived of the things most of us take for granted, such as food and water. Here in the states when we are preparing to break our fast, we have an abundance of choices. We can easily drive to anything we crave for, or even have it delivered. In Gaza however this is not the case. They lack the means to obtain meals throughout the rest of the year, let alone Ramadan. It's heartbreaking.
Though we all pray that their hardships are resolved permanently, together as members of the human race we can assure that IF NOTHING BUT FOR AT LEAST ONE NIGHT, we can put a smile on their faces, food in their bellies, and the enjoyment among loved ones, a hearty, healthy meal without worry.
“(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: ‘We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.” – Quran.
76:8-9 The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "If you love the poor and bring them near you, God will bring you near Him on the Day of Resurrection." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1376.
Zaid ibn Khalid Al-Juhani reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever feeds a person who is breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person.” Source: Sunan At-Tirmidhi 807.
