There is a difference between asking for help and living off others’ dimes. This crowdfunding campaign has been created in response to the request of one of the so-called ‘influencers’ to pay for his holiday in Africa.
The sole aim of this crowdfunding is to raise funds for those in actual need - for children in Africa. 100% of the raised money will go directly to AfriKids, one of the largest British charities helping children in Africa to be HEALTHY, SAFE and IN SCHOOL.
For those of us whose mama did not pay for their trip to Africa, here is some basic information:
- More than 30% of African children suffer from growth disorders such as stunting due to their chronic malnutrition.
- Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest infant mortality in the world. On average, one in 11 children dies before his fifth birthday.
- 25 million Africans are infected with the HIV virus, including approximately 2.9 million children.
- In sub-Saharan Africa, 59 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 work instead of playing and going to school.
