I Ride for David

Anyone who's done any bike racing in Virginia knows the Careys - Mike, Elizabeth, Thomas, Christopher, and of course, David are a constant presence anywhere us two-wheeled fanatics tend to gather.  And if you ever wondered who that kid is that just HAS to get one more lap, or one more race in....even when everyone else is done for the day, well, that's David Carey.  My man LOVES bikes. 

Well, we received very unfortnate news this morning that David has been diagnosed with pre B acute lymphoblastic leukemia.  Thankfully, he's in the best hands possible at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, and has already started treatment.  The Carey's would never ask, so I'm going to - please consider contributing to this campaign to help the Careys out with all the expenses that are sure to come with something like this. 

I have no doubt that with all the Carey's do for bike racing in Virginia, and all of us who have benefitted from their presence in some way, that we'll easily meet this goal.  I'd like nothing more than to hand that family a nice check to at least take a small bit of the burden of this experience off of their shoulders.
