THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS
St. Nick’s Christmas Club has been in existence since 1988 or 26 years. We assist the underprivileged children of Jasper County, Iowa, to have a brighter and happier Christmas through new clothing, toys and food.
Last year we helped over 650 children in 220+ families in the county. In order for this to happen each year, our club needs to raise $25,000. St. Nicks elves give of their time freely and work very diligently to make sure the children have a good Christmas.
• When a person adopts a child/family, they purchase a new shirt, pants, socks, underwear and a toy(s). No child should go back to school without having new clothes like everyone else, plus they need the clothing.
• The donations help our club adopt and shop for the children who were NOT adopted in the community. Last year the club itself shopped for over 250 children from your monetary donations. On average, a child will cost $100 to make sure they have the above.
•St. Nick’s club purchases a food box equivalent to the size of the family, to help the families over holiday break. In doing so, the Jasper County food pantry is not hit so heavily over the holiday. The grocery bill for this is close to $7500.
Each year we are very humbled by the generosity throughout the county and beyond. Each year we do not think it will happen … Each Year It Happens!! There is an amazing outpouring of unity and caring that occurs for the “love of a child.” That is why we say,
“YES, JASPER COUNTY, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS …. IT’S YOU!!!
Always Believe!
