Hypefestation 4's Prize Pool & Show
Hi, my name is Jason Barbosa and I’m the CEO of Hypefestation. Thank you for stopping by to check out Hypefestation’s GoFundMe for Hype 4. If you are new and haven’t heard about Hypefestation, our company has been hosting gamer culture events for four years online and at physical venues. However, we have been servicing the Gears of War community with the majority of our events providing tournaments with national pull, and in the case of Hypefestation 2 in 2011, International.
We are starting this fund to upgrade the prize pool amount as well as the show. Attracting players to an event is one of the most difficult things to accomplish, especially with a game that hasn’t established itself as a staple title in competitive gaming. The Gears of War community is eager to grow but is on a slow road to maturity as we work together to establish reputability amongst competitive gaming scene.
With your help, the community, and the help of our sponsors, we will be able to provide an amazing experience for players and spectators alike. Our goal is to provide a $16,000 prize pool for a top 8 payout at Hype 4. Besides the prize pool, there are some technical things we need extra budget for to upgrade our show and venue services and so we felt a 70/30% split was fair with 70% of the donations going to the prize pool. In our last fundraiser, we raised $5000, added $2500 to the prize pool and purchased a switcher that enabled us to provide High Definition cameras for the players on mainstage as well as connect more spectator Xboxes to reduce down time on stream by watching side matches.
This time we want to provide a wireless HD roaming camera for Main Stage views and on-the-spot interviews anywhere in the main room of the venue. We also will be purchasing two more commentator headsets and a bigger mixer to accomodate the extra inputs for production…and make sure we set up for listen-ins! Lastly, budget permitting, we’ll add some extra lights and also hire a graphics person to operate the LED wall behind main stage with your team’s logos.
If we go over our budget, we’ll save the extra donations for our next event that will take place in the first half of 2016.
