Hello friends & family,
As many of you know, last year I came to Southern India to volunteer with an organization called Friends of Camphill India. FOCI is a residential community for adults with disabilities where everyone takes part in activities such as organic farming, craft workshops, yoga, etc.
My plan was to spend five months here on my way to other social work opportunities around the world but very quickly I realized that I had come someplace extraordinary (my dream job).
This community is doing beautiful work. Living in a purposeful way where each & every person, regardless of ability level, feels valued & supported. They are committed to sustainability and conscientious living in a way I have never seen before.
I saw it was a place I wanted to be a real part of and contribute to long term. Where I can live meaningfully and know I'm having a positive impact in the world---So I moved here! And will be here for the next few years- living , working, learning.
Right now we are in the process of creating a second community location and are looking for the funding and support.
I am reaching out to you all in hopes you'll consider supporting this amazing organization as it expands and grows. Really any bit helps! Even if it's only $5 it would be received with gratitude.
