Hugs for the Holidays East Texas

It’s our favorite time of year again;  the time to give to those in need throughout the Holiday Season! This year we will be hosting our first ever Hugs for the Holiday East Texas which will be a Build-A-Bear party to benefit the children spending Christmas day in hospitals, shelters, and foster care agencies. My cousin started this organization in Pennsylvania 10 years ago and has been able to have an impact on thousands of kids over the years. She started this organization when her boys were young so she could teach them the importance of giving to others in need. So, as a mother of 3 small children who has been pondering a way to teach my kids this same lesson, we decided to extend the organization here to East Texas.  What better way than to have our children construct a teddy bear at the local Build-A-Bear store and then have them “give up” their specially made bear to a child in need. This isn’t an easy task for some children, and honestly, I think that is why this is a great way for us parents to encourage the meaning of giving back! With that being said, if you and your family and friends are looking for a way to teach your children about giving back in a way in which they would better understand, then here is your perfect opportunity to do so! We will be hosting our Build-A-Bear party on December 6th from 4-8pm at the Build-A-Bear in Tyler. We encourage you all to attend even if you don’t have children to help us give back to others in need this Christmas! If you can't attend then please feel free to donate money or bears as you can.
