Humane Society of OC Needs New Van
Donation protected
The Humane Society of Oldham County is in need of a new van! We are a 501 (c)(3) no-kill animal organization. We are staffed almost entirely by volunteers, with 94% of our funds going directly to the animals.
We have only one van and it is used for many things:
-Camp K-9: Our prison dog training program, Camp K-9, pairs eligible inmates with rescued dogs to provide socialization skills, basic manners, and obedience, under the strict supervision of a professional trainer and prison staff. Some of the dogs are chosen to be service animals, trained to aid veterans, first responders, and five star families. Dog adoptions from Camp K-9 are extremely successful: who doesn't want to rescue/adopt an already trained dog? The van would be used to transport dogs to and from the prison, the vet, and to adoption events.
-Food Bank: We collect pallettes of donated food from community partners for our shelter animals and for those who are struggling to feed their pets.
-Trash Disposal
-Fundraising: Booth equiptment and merchandise are transported regularly with our van.
-TNR: Our Trap, Neuter, Release program for stray and homeless cats in our community uses the van for transport during multiple trappings
The HSOC also offers programs such as Snugglers for Seniors, Barn Cat program, and low cost spay and neuter clinics for those who can't afford it and for other rescue organizations who rely on us because they do not have these services themselves.
Please donate and pass this on to your animal loving friends!
