The 12th Annual House in the Park festival at the historic Grant Park is back on Sunday September 4th, 2016, and we need your help. What began, in 2005, as a free day at Candler Park for our immediate family and friends who love and appreciate soulful house music and dance culture has become one of Atlanta's most anticipated FREE cultural events of the summer and the largest outdoor soulful house music event in the Southeast.
Here's where you come in. Your donations help offset the costs associated with producing this event. House in the Park has always been a FREE event. As this event has grown so has production expenses. From a humble 250 attendees in 2005 to nearly 15,000 people in 2015, our growth is a direct reflection of our commitment to curating a quality event that exposes Atlanta and the world to the culture we know and love called HOUSE.
To put things into perspective, the City of Atlanta has classified House in the Park as a Class C event. This puts us in the 10k-19,999 anticipated attendance bracket. But what it really means is we have to increase our portable restrooms by 30%, we have to double our Emergency response team to include an Ambulance, as well as secure additional Insurance for the day.
While this is an abbreviated list of the things that go into logistically pulling the event together we want you to at least get a glimpse of the sheer magnitude of planning and preparation required and of course the fiscal demand that accompanies it.
House in the Park has always been the people's event and now we need the people to help us out by donating whatever they can (no amount is too large or too small).
