Horicon Police Department K9
The Horicon Police Department is working to continue our police canine program. Our goal is to raise $9,500 for a new dog, handler training, and the necessary equipment to continue this valuable resource in the City of Horicon and Dodge County.
Police K9 Teams are specially trained in the detection of narcotics. Officer Brandon Mantych will be our new handler and is excited about the opportunity to work throughout our community.
Having a drug dog is important to address the problem of drugs in a proactive way. Along with the specialized skills in narcotics detection, the dog will serve as a community outreach resource and partner. We work with our schools, our community service agencies, and our corporate citizens to maximize the return on investment we have in our K9 Program.
Kids in our schools, on our playgrounds, and in our neighborhoods have come to know and love our current K9 Dusty who began his career at Horicon PD on January 2, 2009. We wish him well on his retirement with his handler and his family.
