Save a Heroes Life: Hope 4 Veterans

Donation protected
Hi and thanks so much for stopping by! We are Elizabeth Torrence, an honorably discharged OIF Veteran of the United States Army and Delfina Alden, founder of the World Changing Warriors movement. We are life partners and partners in creating change in the world and saving the lives of Veterans.

According to a 2013 study done by the US Department of Veterans Affairs, 22 veterans commit suicide daily. This statistic is horrifying and all too real. Millions of Veterans suffer with debilitating PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia and deep isolation. They often have no one to turn to, they feel desperately alone and abandoned.

The VA (Veterans Administration) is terribly understaffed, overwhelmed and frankly isn't all that much help for veterans seeking immediate help. Sadly, the situation at home for most veterans is equally debilitating.  The things Vets have seen, done and experienced have left them with horrifying inner wounds that cause severe emotional distress for both the vet and their loved ones. The families and friends of vets who've never been there simply have no way of understanding fully exactly what the vet is going through or how they can help them.

This is a very real and very urgent problem and we have committed to fixing it.

We are creating an organization called "Heroes Home Base" which will serve veterans and their loved ones in several ways. HHB will be a community for veterans to come together and share their stories, connect with each other and receive support both from fellow vets and qualified therapists and healers of complementary medicine. We will hold monthly in person meetups in Los Angeles, CA which will be live streamed and accessible for free online so that everyone can watch and participate.

HHB will be:

-an online magazine with articles written by vets, mental health professionals and experts who can help the healing process.

-a hub for veterans to find help with mental and emotional ailments at a reduced cost or free. Services will be donated from professionals around the country

-an online community that bridges the huge divide between the vet and his/her family members and helps moderate the conversation and facilitates healing and mutual understanding

-a live in person meetup that begins in LA and spreads across the country.

This will change lives. This will save lives. This will save marriages, families and partnerships. This will make our world a better place.

We need your help to make this idea a reality. We are seeking funding for startup and operations. This will become a non-profit organization at a certain point. Right now, we need funds in order to build the online platforms, website, hire help and manpower to make necessary connections, create back end tech systems and to do initial stage marketing and publicity.

We invite you to read more about Elizabeth's personal experience during her time in the service and especially about her deployment to Iraq in 2007 at the height of the conflict. Her story (read it HERE ), while deeply touching and extremely terrifying, is not unique. Millions of post 9/11 veterans are suffering right now, right this minute.  Millions of families are being torn apart because the vet's loved ones are deeply affected as well.

The time has come to take action. The time has come to take a stand. We are standing up for all of the Veterans and their loved ones who are ready to give up.

We invite you to stand with us and donate to make this life changing organization a reality.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to each one of the heroes who have quietly given so much and to you for standing with us.
