Help for Homeless Female Vets

Donation protected
Hope Jackson is an Army Combat Veteran who received a divine vision from the Lord during the midst of her military career. Hope asked the Lord to grant her 20 years of honorable service, and vowed that she would retire at that time and do the work he purposed her to do. Hope retired in April 2010 after twenty years of service. In May 2010, The H.O.P.E Institute (H.I.) was born, and received its 501c3 designation in June 2012. The milestone event brought to fruition the divinely inspired vision giving to Hope while serving in Kosovo almost a decade earlier. The H.O.P.E Institutes debute initiative is to open El Paso, Texas's first home exclusively for homeless female veterans; affectionately known as the House of Peace (HoP). A HoP is a single family home located in the residential area into which these ladies will ultimately trasition. H.I will facilitate the transition from dependency to self-sufficiency by providing housing, food, transportation, clothing, training, and an extensive educational curriculum for Female Veterans who need a " hand up " ! HoPs are located in safe and secure environments that are drug and alcohol free, with access to public trasportation, the VA hospital, FT Bliss, shopping, schools, and more. Upon completion of the program, the residents will have the tool required to gain employment and transition to permanent housing.

The funds are needed immediately! Everyday that we're short funding is a day that Homeless Female Veterans in the El Paso County are displaced!!

Once we reach our goal, the funds will be used to hire the much needed staff so we could provide these ladies and their dependent children a place to call home. These ladies will have a myriad of appointments ranging from doctors appointments for themselves and their children, to job interviews, shopping for necessities, and many other necessities that require transportation resources. We've received interest in our program from ladies in other parts of the country. Of course we would need funds for recurring expenses such as utilities, food, hygiene items, educational materials, audio visual equipment for overhead projection, vehicle gas and maintenance, insurance, routine maintenance of the homes, local monthly social activities. The monthly budget for this program is approximately 9k per month. However, once the home is fully operational it will become self-sustainable withing 6-9 months.

As a female combat veteran, I fully understand that I could have very easily become a part of the Homeless Female Veteran population. Therefore, I believe that I have an obligation to be my sisters' keeper! However, I cant do it without your assistance!
