Homeless Pregnant Teen
As many of you know, my son J.R. and his fiancee Brandon were blessed this January when they were introduced to a 19 year old named Gabby who is pregnant.
Gabby knew she wanted to place the baby for adoption as she knew she could not provide for it at this stage in her life. The three met and they all agreed this was a wonderful oppertunity and blessing!
Two weeks ago our whole family got the chance to meet Gabby when we were all together for a gender reveal celebration. IT'S A BOY! 
Now for the tough business...
J.R. and Brandon recently told us that Gabby has unfortunelty found herself without a place to live.
Left with no options, Gabby went to a homeless shelter on the south side of Chicago early this week. I think we can all agree these circumstances are not ideal for anyone, but especially a teenager who is 4 months pregnant.
Of course J.R. and Brandon want nothing but to get her out of this situation - FAST! Unfortunatly, after consulting with thier adoption attorney, it would be illegal for them to personally assisst her financially at this time, as it could be misconstrued in the courts down the line as buying/selling a baby. This is the furthest thing from that. Watching Gabby go through this and being unable to help her is paralyzing for J.R. and Brandon. They have the biggest hearts and are both so generous; that is why Gabby chose them in the first place. But the law is the law, and we want Gabby to find proper, safe housing, and path to get back on her feet.
We all know anything can happen with pregancy and the adoption process, down the road, but this is our way of helping a young girl get the footing she needs to begin a stable life. Whatever happens with adoption, we all want to help Gabby.
She has no family support, no job, and has never had the oppertunity to get her driver's licence. She is trying her best just to get by.
We all have had those moments when we felt like we were at rock bottom, and hopefully someone reached out a helping hand to us. The beauty of these crowdfunding sites is that every dollar counts. Any amount, large or small is amazing!
Gabby needs your support! Let's all come together to help this wonderful young girl who is down on her luck. She needs a fresh start, a safe place to live, maternity clothes, food, toiletries, vitamins, bus passes, and resources to help her gain employment and be on the road to starting a great adult life. She is a kind, brave, selfless and thoughful young girl who was dealt a lousy hand.
Can we all lend our hands to help change that?
