Ndahimana Narcisse , 42 and Mutuyemariya Consilie, 33 both live in Muhanga District in the Southern Province of Rwanda and  are parents to three kids, aged 8, 6 and 4.

Their story has been shared by hundreds on social media on November 29, 2018 - a day they decided to officially get married as they lived under common law partnership since 2008. Their wedding was unique: there was no reception, they walked several miles to reach the municipal office for their wedding with no shoes on their feet which is unusual in Rwandan wedding. A local online news paper shared their story on YouTube which was viewed by over 60,000 people and many people in Rwanda were touched- a local fundraiser has been organized to cover Narcisse's medical bill, food and clothes. Narcisse  lives with disability caused by an (unknown) disease that affected his legs and feet and also suffers from Asthma.

The family lives under extreme poverty  but they didn't allow their financial status affect their dream of getting married and live the life of their dreams. You could see a smiling face as they tell their story although it will make you cry at a certain moment.

My name is Albert MURAGIJIMANA, a Rwandan living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I have spent 27 years in Rwanda and worked as an advocate of vulnerable children in a number of projects from education, youth employment and nutrition. My works have been recognized by the former President of the United States Barack Obama and was awarded Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in the summer of 2016. You can google my name.

After viewing their video, listening to their heartbreaking story, I felt like I can do something in addition to food and medical bill covered by a local fundraiser.

I am collecting this funds in hope that this family can renovate their house- as you might see from the video (link attached), their house is in critical condition and I am afraid that the next rainy season starting in January might take the family's lives if this house is not renovated.  I have contacted a local construction firm that confirmed that CAD 2,000 will be enough for a two bedrooms house, an outside bathroom and kitchen. Any extra donation will be used to buy a cow that will produce milk to improve nutrition in the family.

I grew up as a vulnerable kid, orphan at age of 7 and head of household at age of 12. But I’ve been lucky. I’ve had a lot of important  people who have had the greatest impact on my life and I wanna make sure that I am also used to impact the lives of many - I hope you can help.
