Holiday "Meals with Friends"

For some of us, the Holidays (especially Christmas) can be a time of gathering, great food, and celebration. For others, it can deliver the stress of finding a warm bed, hot meal, and the friendly company of others. At a time of year that these things are so important, is there a way we can give back? It's easy to think of all of our favorite things that revolve around this season, but not as easy to realize how many aren't as fortunate as to enjoy these things. It may take as little as a warm meal and conversation to show those less fortunate around us that we're here and that we care.
My name is Kellyn and I'm organizing a Holiday Meals for the Homeless delivery. My plan is to gather, prepare and deliver warm, holiday meals to those in and around downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia who are in need of one. I had originally planned to fund the project on my own dime, but I began to realize how big of an undertaking it was! In order to reach my goal of providing hearty meals to at least 25 people just before Christmas, I will need your help.
With any and all funds raised, I will purchase the typical holiday meal staples, as well as supplies needed to deliver them. I will then prepare and distribute the meals to as many homeless individuals as my budget will allow. In addition to the meals, I am collecting cold weather apparel, (i.e., blankets, coats, hats, gloves, boots, etc.) to hand out to anyone who is in need of them. My goal is that with a hot meal, warm blanket, and conversation, I can make at least one person feel heard and cared for. Will you help me with this?
If you happen to find that you have any spare or unwanted cold weather items, please know that I am collecting these items, as well. I will be collecting these items up until the day of delivery, December 23rd. If you feel inclined, you can drop of or send any items to:

This year, I wanted to give back. It has been on my heart to do something bigger than myself. I think this event has the potential to warm the hearts and lives of those less fortunate in my own town.
