Hawaii Hispanic Heritage Festival

Since 1993, the Hawaii Hispanic Heritage Festival & Health Fair has celebrated and promoted Hawaii's diverse Hispanic culture with a free community event held annually in October.
This years festival will be held at the Honolulu Hale on the grounds of the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center, October 15, 2016 from 10am to 8pm.
This is a great event for the whole family. Festival entertainment includes live music, dance performances, food booths, crafts, cultural displays, specialty booths, children's activities and community and health agencies.
We need your support now so that we can continue this year and for future generations.
Hispanics are comprised of the descendants from 22 different countries. They are the nation's largest minority with a population of 15.8 percent of the U.S. population. In Hawaii, there are 112,300 Hispanics according to the Census. That makes Hispanics 8.7 percent of the population of Hawaii.
Hispanic Heritage month, September 15th through October 15th, was enacted in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan. This one-month observance recognizes the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the United States. September 15th was chosen as the starting point because many Latin American countries celebrate their independence day on or near that day.
