It would be hard to find one person who's life has not been affected by cancer. For me, like many of you,  I have lost loved ones to this awful disease.

Beginning the weekend of April 23 thru October 31, I have pledged to take the SoCalHiker Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge to rasie money for a cure. My challenge is to summit: Mount Wilson, Cucamonga Peak, Mount Baldy, San Bernardino Peak, Mount San Jactino and Mount San Gorgonio by October 31, 2016. If I complete my challenge, I will have hiked 6 peaks, 82 miles and over 27,000 vertical feet of elevation.

I will provide an update after each completed summit. Please feel free to make a donation after each completed summit, or simply a one time donation. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and will go to a good cause.

All monies raised  will be directly donated to the American Cancer Society.

I am hiking in the memory and honor of loved ones I have lost to cancer.

Started hiking in the dark and finished hiking in the dark, but nonetheless, I finished with a sense of accomplishment.

This has been an incredible journey. Thank you for your donations and support. Together we raised $4500, which is far more than I ever imagined. I thank you for making it happen. I will keep the fundraiser open through the end of the month and make the donation on the first of November. Please feel free to share my campaign with everyone you know....

I'd like to give a special thanks to my nephew Brian for joining me on my quest. Love you man.
Enjoy the video,
Randy

Peak 5 is in the bag! Mount San Jacinto was an absolutely amazing hike. The entire hike is through lush forest with massive boulders littered through out. The views for the peak did not disappoint with the Pacific in sight.

The final hike is Mount Gorgonio, the tallest peak in Southern California at 11503 feet. This hike will be a the hardest of all. There is possible that I will need to backpack this one and sleep on the mountain. The hike is 18 miles with 5800 feet of elevation gain. I am attempting to hike it as a day hike on 10/20. If I am unable to complete the hike in a day...I will complete it after the weekend and camp out...

Either way you will know by the weekend if I made or not. My challenge officially ends on the 31 so I will close down the fundraiser on November 1 and make the donation to the American Cancer Society.

Go Fund Me charges 8% of donations. I will donate the 8% so 100% of your donation will go to the ACS.

I'm so close to reaching 6K...Thank you all for your help and wish me luck this Thursday!

Four down....two to go! San Bernardino Peak was a challenge, 4700 feet of elevation gain with a total distance of 17 miles! This one hurt. Next up is Mount San Jacinto. This hike comes in at only 11 miles, however, there is 4700 feet of elevation gain. This one will be like walking on the stair master...straight up. I am just waiting for our hiking permits to be approved for San Jacinto and the last one, Mount Gorgonio.

Thank you all for your support. Hopefully the next videos will be a little better....I'm stealing Kaleb's Go Pro for the last two hikes!

Summited Mount Baldy on Memorial Day. This was the third hike of the six pack of peaks challenge. This hike was very sentimental for me as it was my father in law's birthday. Ompa, as he is best known, was a kind gentle man that my kids absolutely adored. Cancer took him too soon. I was humbled that I was able to complete this hike in his honor. Thank you to each of you...it's because of you that we have raised over $4,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Please share my campaign with anyone you know. Thank you again and check out the video of Mount Baldy.
