Help the Wells Family

$50,204 of $50,000 goal

The Wells Family is near and dear to so many of our hearts. They are always there for their family, friends & community. They are not ones to ask for help, so we are asking for them. They are dealing with an unexpected house remodel, car troubles, an unexpected move & medical bills. Leslie has been doing all the work and using his vacation time to fix up his house currently. Hopefully with your support, a contractor could be hired and give the Wells a clean and renovated home. We would just ask for you to pray for them in this time of need but also give, if you are able. We appreciate all of you and know they do as well!

This campaign is officially fully supported!!
It has been incredible to witness a community rally around a family enduring a tough season. You have supported the Wells with extra finances, meals, prayers and lots of virtual hugs and we can't thank you enough.
We thought that $10K would be too much to ask for, but we greatly underestimated what God and the community was capable of. Thank you ALL SO much for what you have done and for giving to this incredible family.

From the desk of The Wells Family::

I can’t appropriately put to words how I feel right now. But I’ll try and my apologies for the length.

I woke up Tuesday morning thinking this all was a really messed up dream and I should eat less spicy food (which we all know isn’t going to change...). Then the pain hit hard and I realized I had no idea how I was going to sort this one out and I had an amazing woman and three handsome children that really needed me to. Between swallowing blood, nerve overloads, and wondering which tooth would fall out next, I started working out a plan and it was unfolding to be a questionable one, if I’m being honest.

This year has been horrid in a few ways. Mostly due to so many issues with our old home and me needing to find new ways manage my health (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) more effectively.

Caroline and I can’t begin to tell you all how our despair has so swiftly lifted from us because of you all. Our uncertainty was so enveloped by God’s love, through you, that it has been smothered and replaced by a crazy peace and happy-cry joy that is blowing our minds and hearts. We love you all so dearly! Some near and some far. Some close and others closer, but all family.

I was thinking through learning to sing without teeth and reasoning myself to peace about it. But I’m not anymore. Why? Because you love us and that is a thing I cherish deeply. I hope you cherish how much I love you too! Even if we don’t agree on politics, religion, social issues or which Star Wars was the best (Empire Strikes Back!) I see, in a whole new light, that we can still love and sacrifice for each other. And all because of you.

Thank you for teaching this to me on a level I couldn’t imagine! We’ve been on and off crying for 3 days overwhelmed, now, by love and no longer obstacles and despair.

Thank you. Truly. Genuinely. My kids need help and you are right here for them. When I couldn’t get out of bed to serve my wife, you all are here for her. This kind of community is a dream. This is what, I believe, what God has in mind for all humans. It’s so tainted and morphed by life and the evil we often serve each other, but, nonetheless, this is it. You all have shown me that in the most humbling and INSANE way possible! Thank you for sacrificing for my kids, Caroline, and for me. I pray I can share this with you one day with the depth of impact you have made on us.

I love you and, I can’t say it enough; THANK YOU!! I couldn’t ask for a better family to share a city with and I am honored to take hands with each of you to make sure all Omahans know how valuable they are to us.

Sincerely Loving you,

Leslie & Caroline
John, Scarlett, & Henry
XOXO

Hey everyone, thank you for your continued generosity! It’s been incredible to see God use his people and the people of Omaha to support the Wells. As your generosity has far surpassed my wildest dreams, more needs have been made known as well. So the goal has been set at $50k to allow them to hire out a contractor for their house, help with any medical expenses, help with car expenses, and hopefully allow them to breathe a little easier in a undoubtably tough time. To add on to the Wells’ list of trouble, an unexpected move has thrown into the mix. Please continue to pray for them, share, and give if you can! Again, thank you for being incredibly generous!
