Help rebuild Pine Acres

Sunday January 29th we found out that our beloved swim club Pine Acres had been intentionally burned down. We are still trying to figure out why it all happened and the damage that occured. At this point the wooden structures like the snack bar, locker rooms and front office are all gone. Also, since we were closed for winter, those buildings had most everything we use to run the club stored inside.
A lot of people have asked if we have insurance, yes we have insurance. What we don't know is how much the insurance will cover. We also know that insurance claims don't get processed overnight. Our fear is that we won't be able to open in time for May and since we can't afford to start this process on our own we are looking for help from our members, alum and our community.
The money from this campaign will allow us to start the process of cleaning and rebuilding so we can try to be up and running in four months before our season starts.
I think I can speak for anyone that has ever been a member here that Pine Acres is like home and the friends that we have made here are family. I personally have been a member since I was seven, and now am back with my own family. I can't say enough wonderful things about being a part of this community, it's literally one of a kind.
Sixty years ago this year, they broke ground to build the swim club. Since then many generations have enjoyed this wonderful place. Whether you were on the swim, diving or tennis team; Or if you lifeguarded here or worked in the snack bar. We all have a personal attachment to this place and we all share many wonderful memories.
Let's come together to re-build what was lost so that we as a community can continue to enjoy our summers here. So many families plan their year around being members and all the amazing things that come with being at Pine Acres. 100% of the proceeds from this Go Fund Me page will go back into Pine Acres and no amount is too small. I will keep you posted on it's progress and hopefully with your help, we can get the pool back and running before summer 2017.
