Help Shawna Bring Tre' Home Fund

For those of you that do not know me, my name is Shawna, but most of my friends call me Postal.  I am the proud mother of two awesome boys ages 20 and 9.  I have spent the last 6 years being a stay at home mom, part of which was spent being a foster mom, volunteering at the school and for a non-profit organization, babysitting for friends, and trying to start a resale business.  In May of 2015 everything turned upside down.  After paying May’s rent we were advised by our Landlord of seven years that the owner wanted to sale the property.  Shortly thereafter we received a notice of non-renewal of our lease, a notice to vacate, followed by a writ of possession.  We were able to negotiate staying in our home until school was out at which time I asked my sons father to utilize his summer visitation rights in hopes of shielding my son from the emotional stress of moving.  Since we had not found a new place to live they literally put our belongings on the curb.  To make matters worse my fiancé, who had been our primary means of support for the past six years, unexpectedly had a drastic drop in his income thus making an affordable place to live very hard to find.  We temporarily moved in with a friend/neighbor while we looked for a new home.  My son bounced back & forth between his father’s place and ours over the summer.  When it came time for school to start we still did not have a place of our own and his father wanted to enroll him in school where he lived, however I was against this for many reason several of which I cannot mention due to the pending court case.  His level of education however was my main concern.  I did not see a reason for him to go to a new school when he could still be with his friends and attend the same school he had previously attended, a school that already had a plan in place to help with his dyslexia. The school district in which his father lived did not have very good ratings nor did it have the same type of accommodations/programs for severely dyslexic students.  Our financial situation had not gotten any better so I began working part-time in addition to helping the friend we were staying with recover after her second heart attach her deteriorating health forced her/us  to move and sale her home.  We stayed in a hotel for a few weeks, but that gets expensive very quickly.  I did not want my son living this way so I agreed to let him stay with his dad until we got a place and back on our feet as long as he did not withdrawal him from his current school, that was in November.  We decided to move into a tent out on a friends land in order to save money for a home.  When out of the blue we were offered the opportunity to go into business with a friend putting into reach our dream of opening a resale store.  It seems that when we put one piece of the financial puzzle into place, another piece or in the case the bottom falls out.  On January 16, 2016 on my way into watch my sons pinewood derby race I was served a petition to modify parent-child relationship.  My ex is claiming that my current financial situation is due to excessive drug and alcohol use and that I am a danger to my son, which could not be further from the truth.  He has hired a very good lawyer knowing that I cannot afford one.  Since I was served I have not been allowed to see my son only electronic communication is allowed.  I have spent every waking moment trying to earn funds to cover an attorney only to have everything seized by the IRS last week for back taxes owed on my fiancés father’s estate. Court is scheduled for February 5th and I only have a few hundred dollars to put toward an attorney.

My life is meaning less without my little man in it.  I can’t even go to the grocery store without crying.  Everything I did and the decisions I made where done because I wanted what was best for him.  Removing me completely from his life is not what is best for him.  Please help, all monies raised will be used for an attorney/legal expenses, a home, and most importantly to help me keep custody of my son.  I love and miss him terribly; words can’t describe what he means to me.  Thank you for your time, support and donations!
