Hi everyone, my name is Tony and I have set up this Go Fund Me page for my best friend Marijan as his circumstances have taken a very negative turn.
Before I continue, here is Marijan's account of everything that has happened over the last few years and why he is in the situation he is in right now:
Marijan lives in Croatia and suffers with severe depression, anxiety and a heart disorder, all of which prevent him from working. On top of all those things the opportunities for employment in Croatia are dire.
In the last year or so, him and his parents have been caught up in a legal battle with their electricity provider, who are insisting that they are using a lot more power than they actually are, issuing them bills that are more than 5 times the normal. As they already struggle financially to even feed themselves, they cannot afford to pay these unfair and illegal charges, and even if they were to they would jeopardise the lawsuit they currently have going.
The way the legal system works in Croatia, it could be years until this case is resolved, leaving him and his family in the dark, with no way to keep food fresh and no way of keeping warm when the winter arrives.
As you can imagine, this has had a massive impact on Marijan's mental health and wellbeing, to the point that he has lost the will and strength to go on.
I'm looking to raise around £1500 which I will send to him and his family to invest in a petrol generator, so that they can have some power for basic needs and a little money left over to put towards legal fees and food.
Marijan is one of the best people I've ever met and deserves so much more out of life, he's intelligent and has talent, especially for video editing and photography but cannot pursue either of these while his circumstances are as bad as they are.
I would, and Marijan also, be grateful for any donation you can make as I fear my friends life hangs in the balance. Raising this money could make all the difference in helping Marijan and his parents pull through this situation and find the strength to get through it.
If we manage to raise the money, both myself and Marijan will post updates on how the money has been spent, with photos. We will also keep everyone updated with how the lawsuit progresses and the eventual outcome.
I'm hoping that we can reach the target within a 2 week period as they are in dire need.
