Simply put, Jye has bulging and degenerating discs in his neck which are pushing on his Spinal Cord. Besides the progressively worsening nerve problems, pain and stiffness Jye is also at risk of Paralysis if this continues untreated. The only option US Doctors are offering Jye is to Fuse 3-4 discs in his neck together which will forever restrict his movement and ability to live his life the way he does, outdoors, in the ocean and everywhere in between.
But there is another option, Germany is on the cutting edge of disc replacement and after consultation Jye has been approved for Disc replacement surgery which will give him back close to 100% of his original strength and movement!! But this comes at a price tag of close to 60 thousand dollars.
Jye has always been an advocate of Surfing, Diving, Biking and pretty much anything an active lifestyle provides, his livelihood depends on this as a key figure in the media world of the action sports industry.
