Humanitarian Aid for the US/Mexico border

Donation protected
I am going to the US/Mexico border in October and I need your help! I'll be putting my newfound building skills and Spanish to work at a volunteer medical clinic. I'm paying my way but will need to buy supplies, and I'm asking for your help in this. Living in the United States in this socio-political moment has given me a lot to pause and reflect on. I look around and see all the harm being done- to other human beings and to our planet - and I can't help but  feel angry, sad, and really helpless. I know I am not alone in feeling paralyzed by the amount of destruction around me. For me, the only way out of that paralysis is to get up and do something. Luckily, I know some badass people.   While I was backpacking  in Medellin, Colombia, I met a traveling nurse, Samantha, at the airport. We stayed in touch, and she recently told me about the work she’s doing at the US/Mexico border. She’s working at an entirely volunteer-run medical clinic which provides aid to refugees who are seeking safety. Samantha put out word that her and her team are recruiting Spanish language speakers, and people with carpentry and/or handy skills. As you may know, there is a humanitarian crisis at the US/Mexico border. Refugees seeking asylum are met with increased militarization, hateful rhetoric, and conditions that are literally killing people. Lending my skills at a medical center on the border feels like the way I can fight these atrocities. I am traveling to the US/Mexico border in October to help with maintenance and repairs in the medical clinic, and to help translate when needed. I will be paying all of my own travel expenses, but I need to raise money to buy building supplies in Mexico. Al Otro Lado is another great organization working at the border to provide immigration attorneys for asylum seekers, you can find a link to their facebook page below.  Thank you so much in advance for all your love and support!  Love,  Bianca Links to Al Otro Lado and articles on the current situation  Al Otro Lado https://www.facebook.com/AlOtroLadoOrg/ https://www.facebook.com/ajplusenglish/videos/439812700190433/ What happens to the children?
