The paperwork is in, the interview is set up, Heidy's time to shine has arrived.
Yes, it finally happened. Our Heidy is coming home.

The Christmas holidays came and went. Heidy is still in Mexico. We never were able to send my son to see her.  My son got to spend the holiday with her family in Topeka. Heidy was all alone in Mexico. 
Still waiting to hear back on Heidy getting her VISA and coming home.
It's now been over 15 months since they forced her to leave her family and her home and her friends and loved ones.
We're still accepting donations. Maybe my son can go visit her this summer, if she still isn't home.

Christmas 2019
My son was hoping to see Heidy over the Christmas holiday again this year. Yes, it's now been over a year.  Heidy hasn't seen her family in over a year.
Don't make Heidy spend her holidays alone. 
If you can find it in your heart and bank account to help my son get to Mexico again this holiday season, please donate.
If you prefer, you could always just buy him a plane ticket. Anything to get these two together so they are not alone.

Summer 2019

Family's should be able to stay together. Heidy has now been away from her family for nearly a year.
With no end in sight, let's do what we can to keep Heidy's brothers from having to suffer through this too. 
The lawyer says they will give a discount if we can come up with the money to pay for both of the young boys to get them started. We have hopefully paved a way for it to be easier for them, but Heidy still worries and wants to make sure they don't have to go through what she's had to go through.

So, I'm adding an additional 1k to the goal. 

We're now not only #HelpingHeidy but now we want to be #HelpingHeidysFamily

Original story from October 2018:

My son's girlfriend, Heidy, is being forced to leave the United States because she was not born here.  She was brought over as a very young child and she just turned 18 and will be here illegally in 3 weeks.

We've tried all available options but we've run out of time.

Please help. She will be staying with her grandmother but she needs a plane ticket and some basic living expenses to get her through.

If all goes well, she will hopefully be able to return to the United States as a citizen (and my eventual daughter-in-law) in 6-12 months.

Heidy is an honor roll student. She was a top member in her graduating class of 2018. She wants to study biomedical engineering and invent a way for physically challenged people to ride bicycles and enjoy aspects of life that they are currently unable to enjoy. 

Having a heart of gold and overly humble, she does not want me to do this, but those of you who know me know that I do what's right and just. What is happening to Heidy is neither right nor just but it's a fact. If we can pull together to ease this journey, this trial, this devastating moment in a young girl's life, isn't it worth it?  This situation isn't her fault and so many of us love her and see her potential.
