Helping a beloved Kyrene employee

It was a phone call that no one could imagine.  A hysterical young male voice screamed, "Mom, they have me blindfolded, tied up and they're going to kill me!" This call was real and was received by one of my best friends, Kinora, just a few days ago.  This sent her into absolute panic as she stayed on the phone with these criminals for almost 5 hours as they said unspeakable things to her convincing her this threat was real.  It has since been determined as a scam and her son is just fine. At the time, however, they said they had her beloved son and would kill him if she didn't withdraw $3,000 and wire it to them immediately.  In her desperation, she did exactly that.  She had just received her summer paycheck intended to get her through the summer and that much needed money is now gone.  She has reported this incident to the proper authorities who will investigate, but the chances of recouping any of her money are next to none.  She needs help now to cover living expenses.  

Many of you know her as a devoted, faithful servant of the Lord who said to me, "I've never prayed so hard in my life" and still says, "I know God has a plan in this."  If you cannot donate, please pray for the arms of Jesus to comfort her as she is now struggling with the effects of such a traumatic event and will no doubt for some time to come.   

She has served our district for 29 years and, this last year, has advocated tirelessly for teachers in our district and state as our KEA President.  Many of us fortunate enough to teach alongside her know how devoted she is to her students and fellow teachers.  Many of us also know the infinite love she has for her sons, the youngest of whom is my son's best friend and has been since kindergarten.  

It is our time now to rally for her and, if you are able to donate, you will help this beloved mother, friend, teacher and leader tremendously.  

I have asked for donations in the amount of $3,500 since I know this fundraising company must take a portion to cover their overhead.  If there is any money raised over $3,000, Kinora and I spoke that we will pay it forward to her church, the Kyrene Resource Center, or other place of need.  She will pay it forward.
