On April 3, 2017 Branden Anthony Maitland (7 years old) was driving home with his grandfather.

Their car collided at an intersection with another vehicle and Branden was trapped and crushed under the dashboard.

Rescuers had to use the Jaws of Life and other tools to cut Branden out of the car.  He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition where he remains in intensive care.

Branden suffered extensive fractures to his left foot, left leg, right hip, pelvis, and skull.  He has bruised kidneys and lungs and is unable to breath on his own. His has already had two surgeries and is undergoing a third as this is being typed.  His family has been warned that he may lose one of his kidneys.

Branden is expected to stay in intensive care for a minimum of 3-6 weeks and will not be able to walk for another 3-6 months.  Intensive physical thereapy will be needed to help him recover and lead a normal life.

The need for financial help is urgent and any assistance you can provide is appreciated.   The family is going to need help for a long term recovery.

Thank you.
