Help Isaac Kick Rare Cancer

Donation protected
Please help eleven month old Isaac Harrison in his fight against a rare form of cancer.

This sad story all started in late August 2015. Isaac's parents, Jaharya and Kwamane Harrison, noticed that his stomach appeared large and was hard to the touch. By this time, Isaac had completely stopped drinking his baby formula. So his parents took him to the emergency room, where it was discovered that Isaac had a large mass in his stomach. After a battery of test, doctors informed Isaac's parents that he had a rare and aggressive childhood tumor known as a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor. A condition so rare, there are only about 20 to 25 children diagnosed each year in the United States.

And that is not where the nightmare ended for the Harrison family. To treat Isaac's condition, doctors determined that would require chemotherapy. About 4 weeks after being diagnosed, Isaac started chemotherapy treatment. Thing's started to look bright for Isaac and his family, that is until the last day of his chemo treatement. Doctor's notified Isaac's parents that a terrible, life threatening medical error had occurred.

NBC10 News Report

During Isaac's five day chemotherapy treatment, he received 33 MG of Etoposide per day, ten times the intended amount. Isaac was suppose to receive 3.3 MG of Etoposide per day. The error, according to hospital officials, was due to a typographical and miscalculation error. This highly toxic and dangerous medication error devestated that Harrison family and put Isaac's health in even more risk.

Isaac has a long road to recovery; many of his medical bills may not be covered by his insurance. Complicating matters, Isaac has an five older siblings, all of whom are under 10 years of age. Working will be difficult for Isaac's parents as they care for Isaac, who has been hospitalized since mid-September, and struggle to balance being at the hospital and caring for Isaac's siblings at home. Your donations will help with all the medical and day-to-day expenses the Harrison family is incurring as a direct result of Isaac's condition.

Thank you for your help! Please keep Isaac and the Harrison family in your thoughts and prayers.
