Help with Kent's Emergency Med-Evac

Donation protected
On 31st March 2017, Kent was riding his motorcycle down the main street of Arawa town, on Bougainville Island, Papua New Guinea, when he was hit head on by a 12 seat mini bus who cut across in front of him illegally, sending him through the windscreen and totalling his motorcycle.
His injuries so severe (his femur broken in two places, a smashed, compound fracture in his wrist, as well as chemical burns to his torso from leaked fuel) that he needed urgent medical evacuation, back to his home country of Australia for surgery.
The complexities of getting him off this small island with the right medical care, took 48 hours and a great deal of logistics. During those 2 days, Kent had little to no pain relief as the island's small basic hospital has very few resources to treat the kind of injuries he had.
This ultimately cost a great deal of money to get him home...but what price do you put on a life?

Why were we there?
We had just moved to Bougainville to work with the local people. We had given up everything to go there and help them restore their island. Sold what little we had. We were just about to start The BRAVE Center, our organisation to train and equip and do whatever we can to see Bougainville become their own nation and thrive.
