Help the Comehn family

Donation protected
On Sunday, December 16, while the Comehn family was at church, their home was burglarized.  The thieves stole all of their electronics (multiple computers, television, PS4) and even the wrapped presents under the tree, some of which their oldest daughter had paid for with her own money from working at the local college.

My friends, Victoria Comehn and family, are immigrants from Liberia.  They have lived in California as a family for approximately 10 years.  Victoria and her husband, James, are both nurses, and have instilled the love of education and being of service to others unto their 4 children.   Their oldest daughter graduated high school with honors and is now enrolled in a local college, where she also works part-time to help pay for her education.  Their older son is getting honors in high school.  Their twins are in second grade and love school.  They are such great additions to our country.

I originally met Victoria on an airplane.  Our destinations could not have been more different - I was headed on vacation to meet with family in a very safe place;  Victoria was heading to Liberia to pick up her two children who were not able to join their parents on their original passage from war-torn Liberia to the US.  It was so dangerous when Victoria returned to Liberia that she could tell no one of her return to pick up her children.  We've been friends ever since this chance meeting.  I'm so grateful for our friendship.

The Comehn family endured and experienced the atrocity that was the Liberian Civil War.  They left Liberia after the Civil War amidst the chaos of post-war for a much better life.  They've achieved that in America.  This robbery has definitely opened their eyes that freedom does not mean freedom from those that might take.

The Comehn family needs a computer to complete school and college assignments.

I am trying to raise $2,500 to help them replace their stolen electronics and holiday gifts.  I will cap this at $2,500.  It will make a big difference to the Comehn family.

The Comehn family is very spiritual and feel blessed that no one was injured in the burglary.
