Helping Sherilyn Heal
Hi Friends,
My name is Paula, and my BFF in this world is Sherilyn, who many of you know as Sheri.
If you have ever worked with her on a TV show or movie set then you may be lucky enough to call her friend. After 30+ years as a makeup artist, and loving that job - she has had to take a leave of absence.
Sherilyn is genuine, compassionate, creative and most of all kind. She's also funny as heck especially after many
hours on the set - as many of you know.
She is humble and full of pride, and would never ask for help, even though she desperately needs it. So I am doing it for her, so she can rest and not worry about the
journey ahead of her.
Sherilyn has been diagnosed with a very fast growing brain tumor, which is also in a difficult place for surgery, wrapped around her carotid artery and more. It's very scary at the moment.
The Drs. are treating it as malignant because they are not sure which it is and because of the aggressive growing of the tumor and symptoms they are assuming it is.
Literally in a couple of months, she's gone from facial numbness and headaches, to double vision, a lot of pain and speech problems.
We are being very proactive with finding the right neurosurgeon that specializes in deep brain surgery, also finding the right radiologist.
Even though she does have health insurance, we are now finding out how much insurance does NOT pay for. Sheri's medical costs are rising at an incredibly high rate - all the testing, sometimes twice, co-pays, deductibles and second opinions.
Not to mention regular living expenses, without having a full time job for now.
For the people that already know and have offered some kind of help or have asked what can they do, my first answer is pray.
Helping her pay her medical and living expenses would help a ton too.
This way she won't be losing her house as well as her health.
