Help Russ Pay for Roof Repairs

My name is Rick Smith. I've known Russ for over 20 years. (That's Russ's picture on the campaign.)
Several months ago Russ had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his intestines. That surgery was successful. However, during that surgery they discovered another tumor which was inoperable.
Russ's health has been up and down since that surgery. However, his doctors indicated that the second tumor was gone after a few months. But his health never really improved back to 100%.
Recently, Russ was in severe pain. Some of his friends convinced him to go the hospital to get it checked out. The doctors discovered he had internal bleeding and the next morning they did a scan to find out what was going on. They found he had a large mass on his left side.
The mass turned out to be cancerous. They said it was too massive and it had spread too far to be treatable. They will manage Russ's pain and allow him to soon return home from the hospital.
In the meantime, Russ has some specific financial needs that require assistance. In August 2016, Russ lost his job because he wasn't able to meet the demands of the company's product delivery cycle. He just wasn't able to do the work because of his health. As a result of losing his job, he also lost his health insurance.
In addition to that, as well as regular living expenses, Russ recently had to have his roof repaired. He still owes the roofing contractor approximately $4600. We want to pay off the roofing contractor as soon as possible and provide some living expenses for Russ.
