Help Rose City Bloom Again

Rose City, a quiet and peaceful community nestled along the Neches River between the cities of Beaumont and Vidor in Southeast Texas, was most definitely one of the hardest hit areas during Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey. This city successfully endured tropical storm winds and over 60 inches of rain but finally succumbed to the flooding river as a result of the Corps of Engineers opening up a dam up stream. This pleasant community suffered a 99 percent loss of homes and businesses. Rising waters ravaged homes and businesses with 18 inches to 13 feet of flood water levels. On top of the flooding, the water took almost two weeks to recede before the first homes could be examined. Some homes held flood waters for almost 4 weeks. Most of the community are retirement aged citizens on fixed incomes and most homes/businesses had inadaquate or no flood insurance. 
I am the Pastor of Rose City Baptist Church. We too suffered catastrophic damage to our church and parsonage where I live. In the midst of rebuilding my church and home, I’ve set out on a mission to do my part to bring Rose City back to full bloom once again. We have had wonderful groups of people give of their time to assist in cleanup but that has run out. We have had generous people bring in some supplies and gift cards to help kick start the rebuilding process. That too has run out. So I come humbly before the world of compassionate givers and ask that you consider helping our community. Every penny given will go to the rebuilding of homes and lives in our community. The need is far greater than the 100,000 that I am asking to raise but that amount will help tremendously in providing much needed building supplies for our community.
