Rafeeque M Octoberene (46, Octo as he was known among friends) was a very smart, intelligent, academic, successful and accomplished Engineer was living dream life in US with his wife and 7 year old son in New Jersey.
In May of 2018, his world was turned upside down!
Octo was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable grade IV primary brain tumor. Since then, he has undergone surgeries, radiation treatments, and multiple lines of systemic chemotherapy. Unfortunately, his clinical condition kept declining despite aggressive treatment. Due to his illness, he became aphasic, unable to communicate well enough. In the past 18 months, faith, love and support of family and friends enabled them to fight through the odds.
In August 2019, his clinical condition was declining very badly and the neuro-oncology medical team advised to stop further cancer treatments and recommended for hospice care . Up on his family’s request with his friends and relatives support he has been taken to Aluva (Kerala, India). The Hospice care was continuing at his home for the last 3 months.
On December 3, 2019, 4.30 PM IST, Octo (46) left this world for his eternal abode of the life hereafter.
He was a true gentle man and selfless person who went always helping others. Survived with wife, Son, Father, Mother, sister and her family.
NANMMA, Octo’s extended family, Close friends in USA, colleagues at Horizon BCBS , College friends from TKM, CUSAT and UC College has started this campaign to support his family.

“Everyone shall taste death. And only on the day of resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the fire and admitted to paradise, this person is indeed successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception.” (The Holy Qur’an:3:185)
