Help Miami DSA delegates make it to Convention!
Hello Friends + Supporters of the Miami DSA!
We are excited to share about our journey to the National DSA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, this August 2nd—4th!
Every two years, DSA chapters from across the U.S. come together to make the largest voting body of the organization, to truly live out the promise of a radically democratic future. At the convention, chapters will discuss, vote on amendments, and resolutions, and make big decisions for the future of the organization.
Miami DSA has been awarded 4 delegates to the convention, where democratically elected members of the local will head to Atlanta, and push for a radical vision of the organization, that brings the energy of Miami—driven by our proximity to the Caribbean and the Global South.
We're talking climate change, gentrification, abolishing the police, and the carceral state; we're talking democratic ownership of the means and modes of production; we're talking tenant's unions and housing first; we're talking Bernie 2020, Medicare for All, and an end to the forever wars. Most importantly, we're demanding Pan y Rosas! (Bread and Roses in English)
Help send our unique delegation to Atlanta, to share with comrades about the power of the local 305, by supporting our Gofundme campaign.
Convention costs will be expensive, as we are looking to raise funds for lodging, food, convention registrations, and transportation costs. All proceeds from this campaign will go to help the delegation make it to the convention.
We will be hosting in addition to this fundraiser, a BBQ/potluck in North Beach, so you can meet the delegates, and learn more about this worthwhile opportunity for our small, but powerful local chapter. Stay tuned for this on our website: miamidsa.org

Chapter funds are used to cover the myriad costs of organizing and running a growing political organization: reserving meeting spaces; covering server fees and platform costs; producing printed materials, t-shirts, and other outreach supplies; feeding volunteers; etc. Our budgeting process is open and transparent to our membership.
