Help me replace Jeremy’s car

On Sunday, January 21st, while Jeremy was at work, a thief stole two years of my son’s hard work and savings. His beloved 1996 Honda Civic was stolen out of his work parking lot while he spent another full Sunday in the kitchen where he is employed. Because it was an old car and had a lot of miles on it, Jeremy only had basic coverage on it.   He was heartbroken, as he bought this car with his own savings, worked full time all last summer, and 24 hours each week from the time he turned 16 until now. He maintained it himself,  and he paid his own insurance.  He is a junior in high school. He even purchased his own parking pass to drive it to school.
On Friday, January 26th, the police recovered his car and he got excited that he would have his car back. However, the thief blew his motor in a high speed police chase. The car was trashed. His rims were replaced; the lining was torn from the ceiling of the car, the motor had bungee cords and a winch holding it in place.  If that wasn’t bad enough, the thief was also a druggie of sorts. We found a small ziplock baggie with white residue on the front seat. There was also two drug scales in the car, along with a cocaine snorty- thing, and razors. In the back seat, an empty bottle of tequila with two syringes in it. The car is destroyed and my kid is heartbroken.
I have some money that I can only loan him to replace his car.
I’ve prayed for days over this for days now deciding if this was the right thing to do or not.  I have a pride issue that I am dealing with.
I’ve learned this week that Jeremy does, as well.  I mentioned a Go Fund Me to him, as friends of mine were asking. He doesn’t want it.  He doesn’t want others to pay for his car (except for his parents, lol).  
Here is something that fills my heart with joy: my son always gives to the homeless or needy. When he sees them on street corners, he doesn’t give change. He gives dollar bills.  When his school raises funds for the needy, he gives, out of his own pocket. And, at Texas Roadhouse where he has been employed for almost a year,  he has a portion of his paycheck each week donated to Andy’s Outreach, TR’s charity.  I didn’t know that until this week.
Several friends and even strangers have asked me to start a Go Fund Me page, so here it is.  If you can give $5, great. If you can’t, I thank you for reading and saying a prayer to heal his heart. 
My aim is to show my boy that there are great people out there who want to help one another. At 17, he shouldn’t have seen the ugliness of the world.
