Help me March on Washington

My name is Mayme Snow and I am a disabled person who makes a living with my writing, art, and photography.  Before my disability, I worked in human services as everything from an advocate for the disabled to a canvasser working against sexual assault.  I've been an activist in the LGBT, pro-peace, pro-humanism, pro-environment communities for nearly two decades.  Because of my disability, I can not drive myself to Washington DC and am unable to afford public transportation.  Your donation will make it possible so I can make it to D.C. for the Women's March on Washington on January 21st, 2017.  I will be couch-surfing with some locals for accomodations, have a Metro card that is in the mail, and am working on securing a seat on a bus.  Any unused funds will be donated to charity.

This moment in history is one of the most important political, social, and cultural zeniths of my lifetime and I want to participate not only to spite my disability, but because of it.  I can not express the self-worth and validation it will bring me to walk in solidarity with those who are working to simply improve the character of our country by making sure we take care of one another.  I will be attending the March as a demonstrator, a documentarian, and as an experienced street medic.
