Help little Madelyn Marie
Madelyn Marie was born yesterday. 8lbs. 20 inches. In the mist of hurricane Michael in Panama City. Her and mamma are doing great. They couldn't evacuate because she was coming, hurricane or not ! Jacob and Kristin are great people and will be amazing parents. unfortunately the hospital has no water. They have to leave. Their house was demolished by the hurricane. They are young, strong and proud but I'm sure a little help to get them through this time would be great . This is not a charity ask...this is a human ask. I'm their uncle and working with their mom to help get monies to support the day to day necessities for raising a new born as most of those things were destroyed in hurricane.+ Read More
Thank you so much Civitan for your contribution!!! You always do so much good for so many!
I have been down here all this week with the kiddos, meeting my granddaughter and helping with her as I can. But much with Jacob at the house trying to organize the contents, sorting salvagable from non, packing pictures and momentos into tubs, and adding more tarps to the roof as it continued to rain today. I have frequently found myself on the verge of tears and don't quite know where my kids and others are finding the strength to preserve through this. The devastation throughout this city is heartbreaking and we continue to pray for all affected by this tragedy. What happened so quickly will take a tremendous amount of time to repair. Thank you all for your donations and prayers.

Thank you, everyone!! Jacob and I are overwhelmed by the support we've received during this chaos. We didn't know this fundraiser even existed until it was nearly to goal and it helped us pay to have the trees on our house removed quickly so that we could prevent further damage. Jacob and my dad are working to remove all of the wet drywall and debris. The next step is to get a contractor in to start repairs. We are staying in a condo until our house is livable which will likely be a few months at least. Our spirits are improving; we are safe, healthy and together. Little Madelyn is doing great and my parents are here to help. The hospital where I work (and delivered Madelyn) took quite a hit but I'm hoping it will be up and running by the time my maternity leave was scheduled to end. We cannot thank you all enough for your contributions to our recovery. This has been an eye opening experience and we are so grateful to have such good family and friends.
Update for today. Kristin's parents left Monday evening with a loaded truck. We put in chainsaws, pole saws, generator and other things needed. They arrived yesterday and started working on removing trees from the house and Kristin was very glad to have her mother arrive. They found a pediatrician and little Madelyn is doing well. I will be flying down in a few days and plan to stay a couple weeks. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your donations, love and support and kind words through this ordeal. It really has helped us all. Fondly,
