Help Julia Fight Cancer

Hello everyone,

My name is Julia Huff and I'm from Syracuse, NY. I recently moved to Charlotte, NC in October. While I was visiting my hometown for the holidays in December, I was diagnosed with a very rare parotid cancer, Lymphoepethial Carcinoma. I had a parotidectomy on February 10th to get it removed but surgery did not go as planned. I have a tiny tumor left about the size of pea wrapped around my main facial nerve on the right side of my face. My surgeon didn't want to cut the nerve to remove all the cancer because the right side of my face would be permanently paralyzed. After surgery, he recommended that I go to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas to finish treatment. About a week and half later I'm here in Houston receiving the best care possible. My team of doctors here don't think I will need another surgery and that radiation and a light dose of chemo will do the trick. So I now have to stay in Houston for radiation and chemo for six weeks. Between the medical bills, finding housing in Houston for 6 weeks, living expenses, and transportation has been financially difficult. If anyone could spare anything, my family and I would be eternally grateful. There is a quote I recently read that I have kept close to my heart during this time, "It's easier to be brave when you're not alone." No one can plan for these things to happen but with support from family and friends we can get through anything.
