More about me:
I am a senior Biology and Cognitive Science BA Candidate at Case Western Reserve University and I am currently applying to veterinary school! I have spent the past 6 months working as a veterinary assistant at a small animal clinic. I also study negative indicators of welfare of piranhas at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. In addition, I volunteer with Tails from the City Cat Shelter and Horses with Hope's therapeutic riding program for individuals with special needs!
My volunteer abroad project:
This summer, I am volunteering with sea turtle hatchlings at Costa Rica's Sea Turtles Project through Globalteer. By protecting turtle nests and releasing hatchlings, I will be part of a team that helps maintain populations of 4 endangered species of sea turtle! I will be working 6 days a week for 2 weeks with a group of dedicated and passionate individuals! Click here for more information from Gloabalteer's website.
Where the money goes:
This money will be going towards the volunteer placement fee (which includes accommodations in a shared dormitory and meals), airfare, travel to and from the project, passport and visa fees, and necessary vaccinations.
