Keep Ethan Dillon in Canada

Have you ever made a dumb mistake? How about when you were 19? Now imagine having your life turned upside down for that one mistake or being torn apart from your family. How about being drained mentally and financially? Everyone makes mistakes in life, but that doesn’t mean they have to pay for them the rest of their life. Sometimes GOOD people make BAD choices. It doesn’t mean they’re bad, it means they’re HUMAN.

Ethan Dillon did just that. A mistake. Made by a 19-year-old. There was no violence. No weapons. No gangs. Just a lapse in judgement, influenced by other unethical individuals.

Ethan perpetually has a smile on his face and is so genuinely heart warming and friendly with everyone he meets. Living on his own since high school, he has always held a job and been able to work hard and keep a roof over his head. He is unquestionably committed to taking care of his health by eating well and staying active. He has a passion for culinary arts, excelled to the top his class in cooking school and has worked in many note worthy restaurants. He strives every day to be a shining example and role model for his two younger sisters and thrives to support them in every way he can. He is a supportive brother to his twin and an amazing son with a heart of gold. The love he has for his family is unbreakable.

Immigration Canada is now trying to have Ethan deported back to the United States, where he was born. Not only that, but the parole he was granted may now been revoked. Immigration Canada is also trying to have him moved to a Federal Prison to serve another 9 months!

Federal prison is where murderers go. It’s where gang members and individuals who have committed violent and unimaginable acts of crime stay out their sentences. That is not Ethan. The mistake he made does not warrant this type of treatment or to be typecast with that type of crowd. He is a young man with a very bright future. The goals he has, along with his determination there is no question how far he will go. His best chance for rehabilitation and getting back on his feet is to not only remain in Canada where all his support is, but also remain out of the federal prison system.

He has already served 8 months in custody for the first time mistake he made. Immigration Canada is pushing to destroy this young man’s life. Not only that, but his loving mother, brother and two little sisters will have to live without him. Instead of rehabilitating individuals in custody to help them have a brighter future, what they want to do to Ethan is the exact opposite.

It is now time to ask for help. Ethan is getting walked all over and it needs to stop immediately. A young, now 23 year old, does not deserve this type of treatment. It is absurd and unjust. We have employed the services of an experienced Vancouver immigration lawyer and need your help. We are asking everyone who reads this to donate just $25. Friends, family, co-workers. If we all stand together, Ethan just might have a fighting chance at living the productive and wonderful life he Is so capable and deserving of.

“When we treat a man as he is, we make him worse than he is. When we treat him as if he already was what he potentially could be, we make him what he should be.”
