Help Dixie Dash!

Hello friends,

I am reaching out on behalf of a very dear friend of mine, Dixie Dash. Sadly, she has had a terrible incident happen to her and her family and really needs some help.

Dixie is in the final process of a difficult divorce. The home they both owned was sold but possession had not taken place yet when the incident occurred. While Dixie was as at work, her soon to be ex-husband got access to the home through the children. This was done under the pretext of dropping off gifts for the kids and picking up some belongings prior to the move. Unfortunately, he was left in the house to finish up. When Dixie came home at lunch, she arrived to the smoke alarm going off and water pouring down through the ceiling. The ceiling in the upstairs had fallen down through to the dining room on the main level. The destruction was shocking. She went upstairs to find that the overflow drain on the tub had been duct taped over and both water taps were turned on full blast. The water did extensive damage to all three levels of the house. She went into her closet to discover that all of her clothes were destroyed. Everything hanging in the closet was cut apart as well as the clothes in the laundry. Her son’s rooms were left intact. The basement was also ruined by all the water. Her soon to be ex-husband sent a distressing text that sounded like a goodbye. He has not been seen or heard from since. His vehicle was found abandoned in Banff. The RCMP are looking for him right now and are concerned for his wellbeing.

There are thousands of dollars worth of damage that will not be covered by insurance. Because the soon to be ex-husband was on the insurance policy, the insurance company will only pay for half of the destruction of the house. The house is inhabitable. They can’t even stay in the home due to all the damage.

We believe she will need approximately $35, 000.00 to $40,000.00 to help cover costs of the destruction that isn’t being covered by insurance company. The damages are between $70, 000.00 and $80, 000. She needs this by May 14th in order to be ok. Any help would be appreciated. The full costs have not yet been calculated, however, if she could reach this goal, she will have a home to live in and be able to bounce back.

Dixie is a good, decent, hard working woman. She is an excellent mother and is just trying to get by. If you could find it in your heart to help her out, we would appreciate it very much. For those of you who know Dixie, you know she would never ask for anything herself, which is why I’m reaching out on her behalf.
